Do they know PC to PC call is free?

I wonder how many people around me know that there is such thing as PC to PC call and it is Free. When I checked around, many friends tell me they do chat on PC with Skype or MSN using only the TEXT message box. BUT do they really use VOICE call, as if using it like a normal telephone and talk.

The Answer is “You mean I can do that???”….

My mouth dropped...In my country, almost everybody knows how to use a computer and surf the web. Computer is part of our daily life. I guess I cannot assume everybody knows about VOIP. After all, most end users are not IT guru.

Last weekend, while chatting with my sister in law, she was complaining to me that she spends about $300 on her phone bill every month talking to her husband who is working in Hong Kong.

To help her cut down the phone bill, I asked her to try PC to PC voice call. She had a notebook which she used for work, write email and MSN but she had never used it to make any voice call before. She is an average user and she dislikes the idea of downloading software as she had bad experience before…….

Knowing her concern, I introduced her C2Call, a web-browser phone application which does not require any software installation.

“What, no software installation? Are you sure?” that’s the look she gave me!

I showed her C2Call website (www.c2call.com), asked her to login by entering her email address and a password. She was surprise to find the registration process so simple….she thought she would see a typical form asking her to fill in information A-Z ….etc.

Once she was in, she saw a test call message that can playback her own voice from the notebook. She was so excited over it…Well, I guessed it was her first time experiencing VOIP. She immediately sent a C2Call invitation email to her husband in Hong Kong. About half hour later, there was a ringing tone from the notebook. Her husband had clicked the link in the C2Call invitation email and was calling her. She was happily chatting with her husband for next hour.

After hanging up, she asked me if she needs to pay for the phone bill. I smiled and explained to her that C2Call is absolutely FREE. She bought me dinner that day..   .
